so me and my husband are looking at booking a cruise for next spring and we keep coming back to celebrity we did royal caribbean last time and it was fun but maybe a little too theme park for us we are in our early 40s and want something nice but not stuffy you know like we still wanna have a good time maybe meet some cool people but not be surrounded by families with little kids or a super quiet ship full of retirees haha ive heard celebrity is more sophisticated but is it *too* sophisticated like will we feel out of place if we wanna hang out on the sundeck and just relax without a bunch of rules also we like the idea of the quieter more adult pools and bars for meeting people who are on the same page we arent into the huge parties but we do like a good cocktail and conversation that might lead to more 😉 anyone around our age been on one of their newer ships like the apex or beyond how was the crowd was it easy to socialize and find your kind of people

That’s the exact question we’ve been wondering about too. Just off a Royal Caribbean cruise and cruise Princess a lot but have heard good things about Celebrity and want to try them. Just don’t want it to be a ship full of nursing home passengers!

yeah apex last year and the crowd was just what you're describing we got into a trivia group with some couples from a bar and ended up hanging out a bunch all week. the vibe is definitely more chill than royal but not stuffy at all

Just did Beyond last fall. You'll find exactly that crowd—lots of couples in their 40s/50s wanting a nicer vibe without being quiet. Tip: The sunset bar and the solarium hot tubs were prime spots for meeting people.
