Favorite Bars and Drinks on NCL?

Hey all, first time on an NCL cruise in less than 3 weeks. What are your favorite bars and any specific drinks? Looking for relaxed places to chill and of course have a tasty adult beverage and snack close by.

If you like espresso martinis, try the Maltings Whiskey Bar. They use fresh espresso, and it's quieter than most spots. The bar snacks are decent, too.

maltings is a solid spot for sure. second that on the espresso martini. dont sleep on the mojito bar if your ship has one, they get creative with the flavors. the raspberry guava one hits different. good for people-watching too. also, pro tip: if you find a bartender you click with early on, stick with them. theyll remember your usual and usually hook you up a little stronger as the week goes on.

The Sugarcane Mojito Bar is great, but it gets packed before dinner. If you want a quieter vibe, head to the District Brewhouse later in the evening. Their smoked peach old fashioned is a unique find if you like whiskey.

Definitely check out The Waterfront outdoor bars in the late afternoon, especially on a sea day. Best vibe on the ship. Grab a spicy margarita and just watch the ocean. Some of the best...conversations start there.

oh man, the mojito bar recs are spot on. the sugarcane one was our go-to last time we were on one of the bigger ships. they had this ginger-lime mojito that wasnt even on the menu—we just saw the bartender make it for someone else and had to ask. turned into our afternoon ritual. but i’ll add a weirdly specific one: the atrium bar during the day, especially on port days when everyone is off the ship. it’s usually dead quiet, which sounds boring, but it’s the opposite. you get this huge, airy space mostly to yourself, the coffee place right there for a snack, and the bartenders are usually down to experiment. we ended up just asking the guy to make us something sour and herbal with gin, and he went to town for like five minutes shaking and straining. turned out incredible, and because it was slow, he showed us how he built it. felt like a private cocktail class. that district brewhouse smoked peach old fashioned sounds killer. reminds me of a tip—if you’re into whiskey, ask if they have any bottles they keep under the counter, not on the main display. on our last cruise, the guy at maltings had a bottle of something smoky from texas he’d pour a tiny splash of if you were ordering a neat something else. doesnt hurt to ask and chat them up a little. the waterfront is perfect for that golden hour drink, but heads up: the wind can be a real drink thief. lost a good hat and nearly a full aperol spritz one evening. so maybe choose a stemless glass situation if you’re walking around. honestly, our favorite thing became finding that one spot and just camping out. you see the same faces, the crew starts to recognize you, and the whole vibe gets way more relaxed. it’s less about the specific drink and more about the corner you claim for the week. that’s where the real fun happens.
