Favorite Port & Excursion - CruiseHuddle

I don't remember what it was called, but I did an excursion in Ensenada that was lunch with aycd frozen margaritas followed by tequila tasting in town. Even with the bus having engine trouble, it was still fun. In Cozumel, I did a "Roots" which was a tour around the island to a bee sanctuary, chocolate place, and tequila tasting. It was interesting and informative, but also a lot of time driving to the three stops before returning.

If you do Rio Secreto, wear water shoes you don't mind getting trashed. My group's flip-flops got shredded on the rocks. Totally worth it, but be prepared.

Favorite all time port was Venice. Not only did the city not disappoint but I was fortunate to be able to go while they were still letting the big ships sail down the main canal. Very memorable. Today it would probably be Key West, love the town and it’s very walkable right off the ship. Favorite all time excursion would be a Jeep one I did through Royal almost 20 years ago in Cozmel. We got in and drove the jeeps (2-4 per depending on your group) and drove to some guy’s house to either snorkel off the beach or swim in a pool. After we ripped though town bumper to bumper like it was a military convoy across to the other side of the island (with a souvenir/pee stop) to a beach where they had a Mexican lunch setup. Afterward on the way back we took an “off road” trail (basically ran next to the road) but since it had recently rained it was full of puddles. We ripped through them covering us and the jeeps in so much mud we ended up throwing away most of our clothes when we got back on board. No question the funnest excursion i’ve done. Have seen some similar trips but none seem to be the same with the “off road” part.
Cozumel, used to be Sr Frog's but now that it's become LAME, we usually hang at Wet Wendy's. Killer drinks and food.

We did Rio Secreto last year. The water is freezing but you get used to it. My tip is to really watch your head on the stalactites.

We did the Rio Secreto cenote swim years ago—definitely a cool experience. Agree it's a must-do. But honestly, our favorite port days are the ones where we find a more secluded beach, less crowded. Gives us a chance to really unwind.
