Finding other solo adults?

First solo cruise coming up. Excited but a bit nervous. Where's the best place on board to naturally meet other single people looking to mingle? Bars seem obvious, but hoping for spots that might be a little more low-key.

I have said this on other threads... Look to see if there are any cruise "sponsored/led" solo meetups. I can not speak for other lines, but NCL actually hosts a solo group by one of their cruise director team members daily & had it scheduled in their daily planner. I am sure that other lines have it too, but NCL does it the best!!

When I was on Royal Caribbean in August, they had a self-led singles meetup at one of the bars. Apart from that, I'm not sure how to find other solo or single cruisers.

One of my go-to spots is the gym or a fitness class, especially first thing in the morning. People tend to be more focused, but there's a natural camaraderie around the workout, and you can easily strike up a conversation waiting for a machine or afterwards by the water cooler. It's way more low-key than a bar. Also, I've noticed that hanging around the coffee shop during the day sometimes works; you see the same people grabbing their daily latte, and it becomes a nod-and-smile thing that can turn into chatting.

some of the specialty dining spots can be surprisingly good. especially if you do one of those cooking classes or a wine pairing dinner thats limited seating. its small, people have to talk a bit, and its not just bar energy. plus you’re focused on the food or activity so if the conversation doesnt flow you still have that. thats how i ended up meeting a couple on my last one. kept things chill but gave a good opening.
