How to guarantee connecting staterooms on the Magic?

We've seen the option to book "connecting" cabins online, but it's often sold out. We really need two rooms that connect for our group. What's the best way to make sure we get them? Should we book the earliest possible and just call immediately to link them? Or is there a specific Carnival phone number for this kind of request? We're sailing in 2026 so we have time, but don't want to mess it up. Are there certain stateroom categories on the Magic that are more likely to have connecting availability?

I'd think either your TA or calling Disney Cruise direct but never booked Disney (yet)!!

Connecting cabins are limited on most ships. We always book through a travel agent and have them note it on the reservation immediately—sometimes they can see availability the website can’t. Since you're booking so far out, you have a great shot. Just be prepared that if you need specific categories, your choices might be narrower. I’d avoid relying solely on the online “connecting” filter.

Call Carnival's booking line the second your 2026 date opens. Connecting rooms on Magic are mostly in specific balcony categories, not insides. Tried booking online once and it failed, so def use the phone.

We booked connecting on Magic last year. The website showed nothing, but when we called, they actually had options. Just know that the connecting door is in the sitting area of the balcony cabins, so if someone's on the sofa bed, it can get blocked. Also, once you book, have them add a "traveling with" link between the bookings immediately. That can help if one cabin gets moved for some reason. For 2026, you should be fine if you call on opening day.
