Opinion: What is the best length of time to cruise for?

I think it's likely dependent on where you're cruising, but I've seen cruises as short as 2 nights and cruises that are 7 nights or more. What is your preferred length of cruise?

We did a short 4-night with friends to test the waters. Honestly, it felt like a tease—just as the fun really started, it was over. We're sticking to 7 nights minimum now. Gives time for everything to unfold naturally.

7 nights is best. Enough to actually enjoy the vacation. However 4 and 5 nights are fun to get away for the weekend.

for us its gotta be at least 5 nights. anything shorter feels like you just got settled and its over. we did a 4-nighter once and spent half of it chasing that vacation high we never quite reached. 7 is the sweet spot for really unwinding and having those random, fun shipboard nights that dont feel rushed. but honestly, with the right crowd? any length can be a blast.

I prefer around 10 nights!! What about organizing a trip together for the New Year? What do you suggest? I found these options interesting: Majestic Princess: 22/12/2026 to 06/01/2027 · 15 nights Brilliant Lady: 28/12/2026 to 07/01/2027 · 10 nights Costa Fascinosa: 27/12/2026 to 10/01/2027 · 14 nights MSC World Europe: 26/12/2026 to 09/01/2027 · 14 nights

shorter is better imo. you can pack a lot into a 3-nighter if you're there for the right reasons. no time for boring days at sea, just straight to the fun. gotta be strategic though—hit the deck parties first night, everyone's still figuring it out.

honestly longer is better for us cause it takes a day or two to find your people ya know? our first is 7 nights and hoping that's enough time to really get comfortable and maybe get into some trouble 😏
