solo cruiser male - getting back out there, any tips?

hey all, new to this and kinda rusty. my marriage ended a while back and I'm finally dipping a toe back in. booked my first solo cruise on oasis of the seas. I'm aiming to meet people, hopefully some fun couples or single ladies. planning to hit the bars and lounges mostly, maybe some adult events if they have them. for those who cruise solo on these big ships, whats the best way to find the right crowd? should I be upfront about my interests early on, or just feel it out? I dont want to come on too strong but I also dont want to waste my whole trip just being shy.

My advice? Just relax, be yourself, and enjoy the experience! Cruises are amazing for meeting new people. Start conversations at the bars, join group activities, and let things happen naturally. A friendly smile and a positive attitude go a long way! Life's too short not to make new friends and enjoy every moment! 🚢😊

Skip the meetups unless they're designated adult. The vibe at the casino bar on Oasis late night is usually more open-minded. Just feel it out, but have an exit line ready if the convo goes nowhere.

Honestly, skip the regular singles meetup. It's mostly folks looking for trivia partners. I'd hit up the adults-only hot tub area after dinner, that's usually where the more adventurous crowd starts to congregate. Be direct but not pushy when you're chatting someone up. A simple "I'm here to enjoy myself and meet like-minded people" sorts the curious from the not-interested pretty fast. Oasis is huge, so it's easy to disappear if a vibe isn't there. Mirror play in those ocean-view balconies is a personal favorite, if you find the right company.
